Accessibility statement

Buying a home is stressful enough. Nobody should have to fight a website on top of it. This page says what I aim for, what is already done, and what to do if you hit a wall.

The standard I aim for

This site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the whole site, and level AAA for body text contrast. That last part means the paragraphs you read are darker against the page than the AA minimum asks for.

What is already in place

• Every link, button and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard alone.
• A skip link is the first thing you reach on each page, so you can jump straight past the header to the content.
• The focus outline stays visible. I never hide it to make a page look tidier.
• Motion is reduced to almost nothing, and what remains is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
• Headings run in real order, one H1 per page, so a screen reader can outline the page correctly.
• Images carry alt text that describes them, and images that are pure decoration are hidden from screen readers rather than announced.
• Text can be zoomed and reflows on small screens without anything being cut off.
• Links that leave this site say so out loud, not just with a color change.

Where it may still fall short

Some content comes from other services, such as embedded video and the anti-spam widget on forms. I do not control how those are built. If one of them blocks you, tell me and I will find another way to get you the same thing.

If any part of this site is hard or impossible for you to use, contact me. Tell me the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. I aim to reply within two business days, and I will offer another route to the same information right away while I fix the page itself.
